Local Food Market Tour in Rome

First and foremost, all three of us would like to give a "heartfelt" thank you for the wonderful experiences that we had with Local Aromas! All three tours that we shared with Local Aromas was more that we expected. We thoroughly enjoyed every moment shared with all involved. Our first night in Rome, we share the "The 4 Roman Pastas Tasting Experience in Rome," with Chef Eric and Valeria. What a night we had! Eric taught us everything about the Carbonara and how to change the simple pasta into three other Roman Pastas. He also paired the pastas with 3 different types of wine that made our tastebuds sing. Eric was a sure pleasure to meet and we loved the banter that we shared with him. Having this Food Tour the first night in Rome, really prepared us the the rest of our vacation in Rome. Having the background of the pastas made our choices in dinners easy without any guessing as to what to expect. Eric was an amazing teacher and friend that we had in Rome. The "Local Food Market Tour in Rome" was again, an unexpected surprise. Prior to the tour, one sister decided that we should have signed up for another Market tour, so I contacted Local Aromas for make the switch. After a discussion with Benny, we decided on sticking with the "Local Food Market Tour" and did not regret our choice. Jamila was our guide to instantly became a friend. She explained everything about the Food Market and the vendors their with such passion. She translated the conversations between the vendors and us with such a kind heart. The food that she chose for us are still unforgettable. We were also very excited when we saw food that she shared with us in our visit in Assisi. What a day that will always be in our memories. Lastly, our "Olive Oil Tasting and Homemade Family Meal in Rome" was out of this world. To be invited to our Chef's home for a meal was unbelievable. After introductions, Benny gave a complete and fun tasting of different Olive Oils and how to use them. Benny was GREAT! We not only became friends with Benny but we became part of her family and she became part of our family instantly. The laughs that we had with her were not forced but sometimes uncontrollable. Then we had a spectacular dinner made and served by our Chef. What a night to remember. We had good wine, good food, good laughter, and good weather. There was nothing more that we could have asked for. Our only regret was that we did not have more time to take more tours with Local Aromas. All three of us would recommend any tour offered by Local Aromas. The three tours that we had were spectacular and when we return to Italy, we plan on having more tours with them. Our thoughts before going to Rome was "we need to eat" so why not learn about the food culture of Rome while we were at it. We enjoyed every moment with Eric, Valeria, Jamila, Benny, and our Chef! All of them puts their hearts in sharing their love of Roman food and culture. And we can now say that we have Friends/Family in Rome. Thank you Local Aromas for a wonderful Rome Experience! My farmer's market tour with Benny and cooking class with Cristina were absolutely incredible! Benny and Cristina were both so warm, friendly, and knowledgeable. I'd recommend Local Aromas to anyone travelling to Italy and would not hesitate to sign up for another experience with them should we be lucky enough to return.

My husband and I took the Farmer's Market tour. We had an amazing time meeting vendors and tasting amazing local foods. Benny is super knowledgeable about all the processes that go into making the different local flavors, it was an amazing learning experience. Everyone was so friendly, cheeses amd meats better than we ever had. Came bags with 3 bags full of local items, most already vacuum sealed, and did not spend much at all. My husband even got tips about his protein intact from a biologist at the legume stand. I highly recommend this tour with this lady!! If we could give more stars, we would.

WOW!! We had an amazing experience with Local Aromas, which included 3 private cooking experiences, a farmers market tour, and an aperitivo experience in Rome. Each experience exceeded our expectations. We enjoyed learning a lot about food, culture, and life in Italy. The conversations with chef Carla and our guide Benny were amazing. Especially the storytelling and laughter!! I still can’t decide who is funnier, Carla or Benny!! They both made me laugh a lot!! It felt like hanging out with friends and family. And the food and wine at every experience was amazing, too!! We also brought home lots of tasty souvenirs from the farmers market. Lucky for me, I'm back in Italy in 7 months, and already signed up for the Cheese and Wine Tasting experience with Local Aromas. I can't wait!!

The farmer’s market tour with tastings was beyond amazing! My mom and I were traveling from CA, USA and wanted an experience that felt more authentic to the everyday Italian life. This was definitely it. Our tour guide, Jamila, was personable, passionate, and fun and curated a great tour and tasting for us. We tried cheese, olive oil, honey, garlic sprouts, bread, and homemade Nutella (spoiler is that everything was delicious). We met a lot of great farmers who were so welcoming and excited to show us their crops. We left with a lot of souvenirs for home which were airplane proofed for us. I would recommend this tour and company to anyone looking to spend a day eating great food and making new Italian friends! Thank you, again, Jamila!

We had a wonderful time on the Market & Street Food tour with Deborah. The food was delicious, she was knowledgeable about the context and history, and the tour overall took the guesswork out of “which place is truly good, which place is mostly for tourists?”

Our experience with Local Aromas was amazing from the minute we met Valerie at the local market. We met the vendors, tasted some amazing locally produced foods and learned so much about the Italian way of shopping. Chef Christina's cooking class was fun and engaging and with her expert guidance we helped create a beautiful lunch that we enjoyed on her patio. Eric guided us on a magical evening walk around the city where we stopped at 4 lovely spots to enjoy some amazing local wine and snacks. Every step of the way with Local Aromas exceeded our expectations and created beautiful memories of our time in Rome.
