Roman Street Food Tour in Rome

Beni was a truly wonderful host. As we walked from one delicious stop to the next, she shared fascinating insights into the history and culture of the places we passed, adding so much depth to the experience. The tour went well beyond the advertised time, but never once did we feel rushed — it felt relaxed and perfectly paced. Each stop introduced us to a new and delightful dish (Roman style pizza con patate, squacquerone and suppli) , and the grand finale was the most splendid gelato I’ve ever tasted. Highly recommend this tour — Beni made it unforgettable!

We reached out originally for a cooking class but changed our minds the more looked into the food tours simply because we had watched previous videos about how fantastic the street food is! On our first full day in Rome we had an early evening Street Food tour with Chiara. She is so engaging, knowledgeable and friendly! She truly made us feel like we knew her for years! The stops we made were local and authentic. Everyone in the restaurants were wonderful as well! We truly enjoyed a different part of Rome from the tourist spots yet were able to walk back to our hotel in the middle of Rome after the tour. The Local Aroma family is as lovely in person as they are on social media. Do yourself a favor and treat yourself to some time with them! Grazie Millie!!!

This was the second food tour we did with Local Aromas. 2 years ago we did a custom dessert-tour and last week we did the street food tour with Jamila. Highly recommend it! Communication was super clear during the booking process, even though we booked kinda last minute. Jamila was very kind and super knowledgeable. The food we tried was amazing! A core memory to never forget!

We had the honor of experiencing four incredible adventures with the Local Aromas family, which elevated our entire Rome vacation. We began with the Four Pasta Tasting, led by Valeria, and it felt like we were with family. We learned about pasta, enjoyed it, and shared laughs about various topics. Then, on another day, we took the Roman street food tour with Benny, which was another incredible experience, walking through neighborhoods away from tourist areas and seeing beautiful architecture as we savored delicious food. Benny and Valeria have a passion for sharing their culture with others, which creates an extraordinary experience. A couple of days later, we participated in a Pasta Cooking class with Carla, who again blew us away with her humor and warm welcome into her home. The pasta turned out amazing, and not a drop was left on our plates. A couple of days later, we attended a cheese and wine tasting, which gave us a newfound appreciation for the art and chemistry of cheese and wine. Thank you to the entire Local Aromas family! We will be back, and we will book more! For anyone reading this review, I highly recommend booking one or more of their tours, as it will enhance your Roman vacation.

I was able to join the Roman Street Food Tour with Benedetta, and I had the best time. She was incredibly knowledgeable and a lot of fun to be around. I had the opportunity to have a one-on-one food tasting where she was able to provide a detailed history of the areas and food. I can't wait to do this again next year for sure.

This was a more than a general food tour. Allessandra is an extremely knowledgeable guide and wonderful companion. We enjoyed learning about historic landmarks along the way to each eatery, seeing the hidden gem establishments of Rome that you won’t find in guidebooks, and receiving helpful advice on traveling in Italy. The food venues were well curated with high quality offerings and we did not leave hungry. Gracie mille for a memorable experience!

We did the Roman street food tour and booked it for the day we arrived in Roma. We arrived at the meeting location a bit stressed and frazzled from the day’s travel but Jamila, our guide, made it so relaxing and enjoyable. She brought us to some delicious places to try traditional Roman street food and we had very good conversation. She really helped us to feel comfortable and to spot legitimate local cuisine rather than the tourist traps many fall in to. We came to Italy to try authentic food, not the food designed for tourists. We look forward to the rest of our time in Roma and this tour helped us to get off on the right foot. What a treat!

This was an exceptional tour. Our tour guide, Deborah, was helpful and friendly, not only with telling us about the food we were tasting, but about Rome and how the locals eat and spend their time. We visited trusted food places and tried a lot of wonderful things. The company had spent time researching and finding the best establishments to eat from and we had plenty of lovely food, and tips as to where to eat while in Rome. We finished the tour feeling very full and content.

Maggie made our first day in Rome very memorable. Everything we tried on the street food tour was amazing. We were tired after a long flight, but having Maggie guide us and share interesting facts and information about Rome let us to make the most of our first day.

Considering it is our first time visiting Rome, my parents and I wanted to take the Roman street food tour to orient ourselves (with true, delicious food) in this big city. Being in a new city can be nerve-racking, but with our guide Jamila, I felt as though I was a local visiting a friend! Jamila was a wonderful guide who was so knowledgeable, not just about Roman food anthropology, but about Rome’s history and much of its architecture! She was extremely accommodating regarding my mother’s walking abilities and helped us navigate the streets expertly. Jamila even gave us recommendations for our following days in Rome, both regarding food and fun. Jamila is an absolute must when it comes to touring Rome and I’d take the same tour again just to walk and chat with her around the city. I would absolutely recommend Local Aroma’s Roman street food tour for the delicious, authentic spots and for Jamila’s hospitality.

We had Sara as our guide for the Rome street food tour. Sara was very lovely and we felt comfortable the whole time. She had great knowledge of Roman history and food. The streets we walked were beautiful and all of the food was absolutely delicious. Also, I enjoyed being able to have a few drinks on the tour which I wasn’t expecting. I also really loved that Sara gave us recommendations for other places to try in Rome. Definitely a tour to recommend doing at the beginning of your trip to Rome!

We had an amazing time on our food tour in Rome! Luca was a fantastic guide—friendly, knowledgeable, and made the entire experience so much fun. The food was incredible, and we loved learning about the different neighborhoods and the history of Rome as we walked between restaurants. Luca also gave us some great tips and recommendations for the rest of our stay, which made the tour even more valuable. Doing this tour at the beginning of our trip was perfect because it helped us get oriented and gave us ideas for places to visit and eat throughout the rest of our time in Rome.
